Job Responsibilities:
The Customer Services Project Applications Engineer (PAE) is responsible for directing Customer Services internal activities associated with supporting the sale of Customer Services Package Refurbishment and Upgrade Products (PRU), which includes refurbished packages, controls retrofits, and package systems upgrades (i.e. Engine Uprates and Upgrades, Compressor Restage, Fuel, Seal, Start, Fire system upgrades). The position directly supports Customer Services Account Managers (Customer Services Sales) and a wide cross section of other departments to plan, develop, and execute technical and commercial strategies necessary to successfully compete for aftermarket business. Specific responsibilities include installed package assessment, selection and optimization of equipment configuration with emphasis on control systems, turbine package systems, proposal preparation, pricing, and ensuring commercial and technical risks are effectively managed.
This position is also responsible for providing a complete hand-over process to Customer Services Project Management for sold projects. At the senior level, the PAE will actively participate in product development and process improvement activities.
Required Qualifications:
- An engineering degree with five to ten years’ working experience in gas turbine industry
- Solid understanding of gas turbine packages and control systems
- Deep expertise in concepts of turbines are essential
- High productivity level with a sense of urgency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good business judgment, and a passion for excellent customer service
- Ability to obtain and maintain Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) certification
- Demonstrate high level of customer sensitivity, and ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting firm deadlines for a variety of tasks
- Ability to work offshore for a short duration (i.e. 3-5 days)
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (i.e. estimated 25-35%) to interface directly with customers in the support of sales related activities
- Experience with Solar's product lines, gas compressors, gas processes, and industrial power generation equipment are added advantages
